European accounting, rethought
Accounting built for Europe from the core.
Doventiq is a new accounting platform, designed around how European businesses actually operate: across borders, currencies, tax regimes and local rules. We are building it now, and you can follow the work.

Occasional notes on what we are building, how we are approaching European requirements, and when Doventiq opens up.
The problem
Europe has one market. Accounting still has dozens.
A company selling into five European countries can meet five sets of bookkeeping rules, five VAT regimes, different invoicing mandates, different reporting formats and different banking connections. Most accounting software was built for one country and extended outward afterwards. The gaps end up as spreadsheets, local add-ons, and a different tool in every market.
| Area | Shared across the EU | Still set nationally |
|---|---|---|
| Accounting | Common directive-level concepts | Chart of accounts, statutory statement formats, filing route |
| VAT | The EU VAT Directive framework | Rates, exemptions, return layout, deadlines, corrections |
| E-invoicing | EN 16931 semantic model | Mandates, transport network, clearance, timing |
| Reporting | Shared accounting concepts | Annual accounts format, audit thresholds, filing portal |
| Banking | SEPA and PSD2 account access | Bank coverage, statement formats, local payment schemes |
| Records | GDPR and common directives | Bookkeeping rules, retention periods, software controls |
A general picture of where European financial work converges and where it does not. It is not a statement about which markets Doventiq will be available in, or when.
The approach
European from the architecture up.
Built for Europe, not adapted for it. One financial core, with country-specific requirements treated as real components rather than as settings bolted on later.
A shared financial architecture
One ledger, one data model, one audit trail. Multiple entities, currencies and tax registrations are part of the design rather than a later extension.
Country requirements as first-class components
National accounting, VAT, invoicing and reporting rules are versioned and dated, so a posting can always be traced to the rule that applied when it was made.
The same product in every market
Local requirements change what the system does. They should not change how the product feels, or force a team to relearn it in each country.
Honest about readiness
A market is only ready when its requirements are actually implemented and reviewed locally. We would rather open a country late than describe it as supported before it is.
Product vision — where Doventiq is heading
Built to become more than bookkeeping.
Doventiq starts with accounting. The architecture is being designed so that adjacent financial work can live in the same system instead of beside it. None of the areas below are available today. They describe direction, not current functionality.

Who it is for
Built for the people who carry the rules.
Businesses
Companies that have outgrown one market and want their financial workflows designed around European operations rather than adapted to them.
Finance teams
One coherent financial environment, instead of a different country-specific tool and a reconciliation spreadsheet for each market.
Accountants
Tools designed around collaboration, control and local requirements — with the rule behind a posting visible on the entry itself.
